Evolve’, the marketing league of the united world school of business, ahmedabad, proudly hosted its first event- ‘battle to revive’ on the 29th of august, 2012. The event required participants to prepare a marketing plan as well as revive the strategy of a long-lost product of the indian market- parle kismi chocolate, using the ‘four p’s”of marketing . The objective was to develop and enhance divergent thinking of candidates and to also assess their knowledge and awareness of the current market scenario. Participants were evaluated by an expert panel headed by prof.himanshu vaidya, prof sapna choraria and prof jayesh ganatra. Other faculty members and studen ts supported and motivated participants during the event.
Having executed the event meticulously, the teams for the competition comprised of the first and final year students of management . Product credentials were explained, including their original branding, packaging, marketing stratgies and pricing, following which participants were required to revive the entire product so as to relaunch it in the markets. A time period of one hour was given to the candidates, during which they performed with great enthusiasm. This was followed by a tough evaluation process by the panel.
Ultimately, three best performances were credited and awarded with cash prizes as well as certificates for excellence by the jury. Overwhelmed with the hardwork and brilliant results, prof jayesh ganatra offered a special consolation prize to the fourth best team.
The event was earmarked with the motivating final speech by the dean, whereby he congratulated the participants and winners as well as the organizers for their undying efforts. The occasion came to an end with the announcement of the next event of‘evolve’- ‘kings of market’which is a business quiz competiiton scheduled this september!
